S&P 500 4202,04 -2,07.

After having opened on a strong note, the initial rally quickly fizzled out, leaving the market closing almost unchanged. On the positive side, breadth closed on a strong note: 3070 stocks finished up whereas 1211 settled down. The cumulative advance/decline lines on the NYSE and the Nasdaq have been strong recently relieving some of our concerns. On the negative side. There are again signs that the crowd is again ready to take risk as measured by the SKEW index, one of our daily sentiment measure and activity in the options market is again tilted to calls buying.
