S&P 500 4296,1 +24,3.
The stock market fell again across the board, challenging the lows of March, in heavy volume and weak breadth: 557 stocks advanced compared to 2759 that settled down. We observed some selling pressure on the NYSE as measured by our buying/selling index whereas on the Nasdaq it wasn’t the case. Obviously, the list of stocks hitting new lows continued to expand. Options traders are active to protect their positions by buying puts as measured by put/call ratios. Most measures are oversold but the downside momentum is strong as the financial bubble has started to deflate since the beginning of the year and is now hitting big cap tech stocks like Alphabet.
