The S&P 500 closed almost unchanged and, for the time being, hasn’t been able to surpass its 200 days moving average. Sentiment among private investors is depressed as measured by the weekly survey among this category of investors, the bull to bear ratio stands at 43 %, historically a bullish signal. Obviously, the fall of Netflix, a loved stock doesn’t help. Nevertheless, breadth wasn’t impressive as 2796 stocks advanced compared to 1512 that settled down. Options trading was neutral. We observed a slight selling pressure as measured by our buying/selling index.
